David Green tells the 50-Mile Hike story, as only NPR can in this edited version. Its about a 50-mile walk taken on February 9, 1963, by Attorney General Robert F. Kennedy from Great Falls, Maryland to Harpers Ferry, West Virginia. The journey was initialized by his brother, President John F. Kennedy. Bobby sets out with his staff on the most natural long trail in the area, the C&O Canal Towpath, and headed north to Harper's Ferry. This year, February 9, 2013, marks the 50th anniversary of the walk which was remembered and honored by the FreeWalkers' 50-Mile Kennedy Walk http://50milekennedywalk.drupalgardens.com/ Listen to the full 7 minute NPR segment on http://www.npr.org/2013/02/08/171191898/walking-enthusiasts-to-retrace-steps-of-1963-kennedy-march?sc=emaf
