The thrill of victory and the agony of the feet

FreeWalker Trustee and Vice President, Risa Olinsky, was interviewed by reporter Diane Daniel of the Washington Post on walking while you are vacationing. The story was picked up online and appeared in the NJ Star-Ledger recently.

In the news article Risa says, “If you’re a walker, your concept of distance when you travel becomes, like, oh, that’s not a big deal. I can walk that. Plus if you’re in a bus or taxi or underground, you miss so much. When I’m walking, I’m seeing more and talking to people. Even just exploring where you live is fun,” said Olinsky, who wrote “Why Walk,” an inspirational book extolling the benefits of walking.
