This May 23rd, it will have been exactly ten years since FreeWalkers founder Paul Kiczek got us all walking, with the first official FreeWalk, the Big Walk from Metropark to Manhattan. Sixty-one pioneers took on the challenge, with seven tired finishers completing the course, and the rest, as they say, is history.
Join us in motion this May 23rd as we celebrate the grand legacy of Paul's bold idea and the undying spirit of our walkers.

All other scheduled walks are postponed through June 1st and until further notice, based on the guidance regarding the coronavirus from the CDC, the Governors of New Jersey, New York and Pennsylvania, and numerous local officials. We look forward to being able to walk with you again soon.

Don't you wish summer would never end?

The FreeWalkers know that feeling well and we aim to push the boundaries of the season each year. This year we are declaring September 21 to be our last summer day - and one that is sure to be a great one for a final summer-like walk.

This is our ninth annual Endless Summer Walk which is a unique long distance event along the interesting and beautiful New Jersey coast. We start at the Aberdeen/Matawan train station near Keyport in the bay area and work out way east to Sandy Hook then south along the ocean all the way down to Asbury Park for a total of 30 miles - all in one day. Great trails, beautiful views and a great ending in quirky and exciting Asbury Park. This makes for an easy ending as we take the train in Asbury back to Matawan to complete the day.

It's Bay Shore to Ocean shore - Shore to Please.

This year we are again supporting the Jersey Shore Rescue Mission with donations, a non-profit that helps the homeless and the down-and-out in the shore area. They are enthusiastic supporters of the FreeWalkers and love what we are doing and we hope to help them help others.

NOTE: There will be no EMS support tent this year in Long Branch.

We are expected to be ending at the popular and extremely excentric Johnny Mac's in Asbury Park, right across from the train station. It's a local very casual bar and favorite for years. Here's one review on it:

Love this bar!! Anytime I come to Asbury, we have to stop in to grab a drink. The atmosphere is awesome and with every drink you get, you also get a ticket for a free personal Pizza! They also have amazing quotes and random artifacts everywhere which helps with the awesome atmosphere.
