Discovered: "One Day Hike" - 100K or 50K Hike event along the C&O Canal - since 1974
To my surprise, I accidentally came across this event in my Internet travels. This incredibly popular event in the Washington DC area has been going on annually and continuously since 1974, It involves over 300 hikers and closes out quickly, turning away would-be-hikers. This is the very same trail I hiked last year (in February) as my r.... There is interesting information at the site OneDayHike.org, including some useful links. I'm making contact with the group to tell of our upcoming adventure. Who knew?

Lori still interested in your long walk to dc. But this looks good too. There's no coordinated action on this at the moment. So if anyone wants to do it you should sign up on your own.
