Hoboken Makes Gold - Walk Friendly Communities

Although we only skirted the edge of Hoboken last year, David Loutzenheiser, passed on this news item that Hoboken had recently won a Gold-level for Walk Friendly Communities. A tip of the hat to our NJ community and New York City neighbor. As anyone who has been through there lately, its a great place to walk but a sorry place to park a car.…

Log for NB2MP10 - 4/16/11 - The Tween Walk - New Brunswick to Metropark

It was cold and damp enough at 8:15 a.m. when I joined our large group gathering in the New Brunswick train station. I and maybe 10 other FreeWalkers had come off  the train from Metropark where we had parked. The station provided some indoor shelter with a Dunkin Donuts and bathrooms within.…

NYC Marathon Nov 6, 2011

Is anybody planning on walking the NYC Marathon?  I just put in an application -- they put you in a lottery for an actual entry in the event. I'm definitely not racing or worrying about time, just hoping to walk and see the hooplah and the five boroughs.

Log for TR2NB40 - 4/9/11 - Great Canal Walk - Trenton to New Brunswick

With a shifting weather forecast it was hard to say how this day would turn out when I got up at 4:00 a.m. The day before had been rainy. The trail could be muddy. But for now there was nothing stopping the assault of our feet on the great D&R Canal.… Continue

April 9 Walk--Trenton to New Brunswick (or almost)

Great thanks to Paul for the terrific organization and weather.  Super thanks to Mike and Ann Kruimer, and their delightful granddaughters, for support and for sagging four of us out at South Bound Brook.  Mike Oliva and his team were wonderful for providing great drinks and snacks and encouragement.  Of course we must thank Andrew Berson who was fantastic on his bike on the trail, providing encouragement and help, especially to those with blistered feet.  I hope I didn't forget anyone.… Continue

Is the cross jersey website MyLog function fixed yet?

Paul

Not to be a pest since I've written about this before, but I've logged a walk, but can't see it anywhere on the site.

Is it fixed?  Should I re-enter the data?

The Sounds of a Long Walk

Just a few days ago, I noticed, maybe for the first time, the sounds of the Great Canal Walk. For most of the 40 miles and 15 hours that day there was an absence of sound in this body of water as still as glass on that calm day....
