12-mile walk from New Brunswick to Metropark - April 14, 2012 - (see last year's responses)
| Walker | Thoughts and Comments | Suggestions |
| AL WALKER | Enjoyed the new pathway | |
| CYNTHIA DEMMER | More hand written signs stating Freewalkers, they were easy to see and follow. | |
| DIANE GLACE | it helped to be walking with someone who knew the route | I hope we have numbers for the next walk so we can identify fellow walkers... concerned about directions for such a distance |
| E. MCCANDISH | I didn't intend to walk so far. By the time I got to the bakery my out-of-shapeness was extremely evident. | Is there an alternate to Woodbridge Avenue? I realize that the Greenway is not yet established. |
| GERALD FITTIPALDI | Got to talk casually with a variety of people during the walk. | Water at rest stop. |
| GREG FITZGERALD | This was great -- my first "urban hike" and I quite enjoyed it. Looking forward to doing more this year! | |
| HEATHER OTRANDO | This was my first FreeWalkers walk, and almost my first walk in NJ - it was nice to see some towns and scenery I wouldn't normally see! | |
| JOHN DEMMER | More flyer type markers at key turning points. Saw several and these were a big help | |
| MICHAEL L DORN | I enjoyed the opportunity to meet a diverse group of walkers from New Jersey and New York City. As one of the "slow" walkers, I had the opportunity to take lots of pictures, which I hope to have the opportunity to post soon. | none - the bakery refreshments were the best ... |
| PAUL KICZEK | Group was very friendly and moved quickly. Like the new Middlesex Greenway section with footbridge - very impressive. I took more time than normal to enjoy the walk this time but still did not cover everything. | May need to limit some stops. Bakery was not as good as last year. Next year we should visit Edison Memorial and tour the museum. |
| RANDI PLEVY | Great fun. Always meet interesting people. Well supported. | If it's all the same to you, I'd like to decline the dog tags. I don't really have a use for them, but thanks anyway. |
| RON PALOCHKO | Yet another in a series of outstanding experiences. Great job! | |
| RYAN BELL | Add a schedule of stops. i.e. the "group leader" will be at the bakery from 12:30-12:45. Walkers can choose to go faster, slower, or go solo, but can also speed up or slow down to catch up with a main group. |

Just a few days ago, I noticed, maybe for the first time, the sounds of the Great Canal Walk. For most of the 40 miles and 15 hours that day there was an absence of sound in this body of water as still as glass on that calm day....
