Our first speaker session for 2017 has been scheduled for March 10, 2017 in NYC hosted at REI/Soho. Hear Sydney Frymire talk about the trips she organizes to Nepal for both the adventure and good works. Her talk here last year was popular and inspirational.
Imagine walking in the extreme foothills in Nepal along native village paths, with breathtaking views of the tallest mountains in the world, and the opportunity to experience an exotic culture, and meet native villagers and monks. Our presenter will discuss what the country, culture, and people are like in this unique area, and share what these adventure volunteerism tours include: professional guides, accommodations, food, and knowledgeable staff.
It's not a climbing expedition; it's a moderate "trekking" adventure across some of the most spectacularly beautiful places in the world. Rated as a moderate trek for people in good shape. The tour leader has been taking small volunteer groups to Nepal since 2011 and is involved in several humanitarian projects there, some of which you may experience during the tour.
The FreeWalkers partner with Sydney on promoting these walks. See details on two events scheduled for October/November 2017
